Why We Are In Love With Item Upgrades (And You Should Too!)

Path of Exile Item Upgrades

Upgrades to items are a frequent and essential way to boost the performance of numerous items in Path of Exile. They can cause additional damage, AD or even affixes.

Sometimes, however upgraded  item upgrade  and Magic gear is outclassed by Rare-grade gear due to their high requirements.

Armor

Armor upgrades can be applied to both weapon and armor items. They increase the effectiveness of the item that they're connected to. Armor upgrades can be found in the world of games and purchased from Blacksmiths on bonfires. They can also be salvaged using an expert or higher salvage kits to retrieve upgrade components from other items.

The level of an armor's or weapon's upgrade determines the amount of damage it is able to absorb. The upgrade of an armor piece to maximum upgrade level will increase its damage absorption. It's important to remember that this will increase the weight of the armor, therefore it must be heavier.

There are a variety of armor upgrades that are available in the game. Each one has a distinct impact. For example, some upgrades will give the armor a certain amount of additional health points, while others will make it lighter and stronger. The name of the armor upgrade will indicate the kind of upgrade an item can be given, as illustrated below.

Some of the upgrades also require magic or a hybrid technology and magic, which are identified by the "Magic" and "Hybrids" entries in the table below. Additionally, some upgrades require a fee to use, which are identified by a "Charges" entry in the table below. The charges associated with these upgrades refresh every day or never expire, according to the upgrade.

Iron Ore is the cheapest method to upgrade your armor. You can locate it by exploring and looting small chests. Titanium is more expensive, however it is obtainable through smelters in Orgrimmar and Stormwind City.  item upgrader , like the Reforge or the Hot Potato Books can only be used on armor pieces that are of high-level. These upgrades can provide significant boost to stats and are a worthwhile cost, especially for single-handed weapons.

The player must be aware, however, that upgrading a piece up to the maximum upgrade level can boost its defense. However, it can also decrease its agility and its speed. It is not recommended to upgrade armor above +9. The added defense typically isn't worth the weight and power costs of the upgrades.

Weapons

Weapon upgrades allow players to enhance certain aspects of their weapon. For example an upgrade can enhance the damage caused by the shells of a shotgun or the accuracy of the rifle that snipes. Certain weapons come with special upgrades to improve their inherent qualities. They include Frictionless Materials (improves stability and decreases the chance of weapon overheating) and Kinetic Coils (increases the speed of projectiles to cause more damage).

The majority of upgrades to weapons require a whetblade, one of three Power Dices and a different amount Minerals and Erons. These can be gained by completing Side Quests or by killing a certain amount of monsters and bosses.

To upgrade an equipment set, weapon piece, or Whetblade You must go to the NPC [ArmorBoboko. Boboko located in Central Flarine, and pay her an upgrade fee of a specific amount of bars. The more bars needed to complete an upgrade the more expensive the upgrade. The cost of upgrades will be lower if have more than one of the relevant upgrade materials.

In Chapter 2: Season 5, the ways to upgrade your weapon and equipment sets has changed a bit. Previously you could search for an Upgrade Bench and pay a set number of Bars to upgrade your equipment or weapon to a higher level of rarity. You could continue to do this until you reached the max upgrade level of the equipment or weapon, following which upgrades would reset.

It's still possible, but it is dependent heavily on RNG. It is better to purchase gear that has minimal upgrade levels, but high base scores and stat distributions. These will have a chance at gaining you the highest tier bonuses and blessings.

Most players will want to make the most of upgrades to weapons they use most frequently to allow them to progress quicker. Players should also upgrade the weapons that their teammates use to boost their strength. Shepard, for example should upgrade his M92F in order to unlock the Beretta M93R. This will make the weapon more useful when used by biotic specialists like Grunt and Tali.

Jewels

Jewels are used in the sockets of armor and weapons, enhancing the power of a character and bringing about secondary effects. They can be created through an process known as jewelry crafting, in which you combine a gem and various chemicals at a table. The higher the quality of the jewel the better the secondary effect. These reagents can be gotten from Treasure Goblins and World Bosses in the world, or through finding Legendary Gear. You can also buy them from The Jeweler in exchange for gold and Scattered Prisms.

The quality of a gem can be improved upon by the Jeweler, with stages that vary from Crude to Royal. The stat boosts can vary depending on the level the jewel is at when it's inserted into jewelry, weapons or gear.

All levels of jewels can be crafted at the Jeweler, with the exception of the rare and legendary gems that require you to be at a certain level to be able to get the privilege of having them. In contrast to other upgrade components, jewels can be swapped out with another jewel of the same kind without destroying the original one. However, you can only replace the jewels in an equipment piece once.

It is typical to use more jewels for aesthetic reasons. Jewels also enhance performance and make an outer layer that is more durable than steel so that repeated friction caused by pivots does not cause damage to the movement.

A Glyphmaster can provide glyphs that can enhance the look of your weapons and shields. They offer a small benefit and can be swapped out at any time however they aren't guaranteed to drop as loot. Glyphs, like jewelry, can be upgraded at the Jeweler to exchange Scattered Crystals and gold. Glyphs can also be taken out and returned to the inventory. Other upgrade components like traits or aegis cannot be exchanged, and can only be retrieved through an upgrade extractor or salvaging with a Black Lion Salvage Kit or an Ascended Salvage tool.

Trinkets

Trinkets are items of equipment that provide many small, but beneficial benefits to your hero. You can find them in the starting area as rewards for personal stories or loot. They are also available from vendors as well as through completing road interaction. They may also be crafted by jewelers, and then found or purchased on the Trading Post.

The first trinkets a player can unlock is the cloak, which grants a small but useful bonus to speed of movement and evasion. The player can then acquire necklaces, rings, and amulets in a similar manner similar to how they obtained weapons and armor. Every piece of equipment has a slot for an upgrade that is either universal or jewel. Universal upgrades are smaller and can be used on any device. Jewels are not upgradeable or replaced and are only compatible with certain trinkets.

These trinkets provide additional buffs and abilities that are active even when the hero isn't in combat. This allows the hero to be more efficient while inactive. It can also make up for the lack of a strong team or talent tree slots which are usually filled by the hero's best stats.

A good rule of thumb for trinket upgrades is to prioritize BiS (Best-in-Slot) items that you will not replace soon, followed by items with desirable stats but less important than the iLevel of the item to be upgraded. This is especially true if an item has multiple stats that you'd like to upgrade since it's generally better to upgrade just one crucial stat than two subpar ones.

Jungle players usually upgrade their yellow trinkets to a red one at the start of the game. Top and mid players on the other hand they will select a green or a pink ward, based on the game's matchup. These choices will have a significant impact on the hero's map control abilities.

Aside from the items mentioned above, players can also find other trinkets in the game in the form of awards and trophies. They can be earned through completing certain milestones in the story, like finishing a chapter's main quest or destroying a boss. These can be viewed by selecting the appropriate achievement from the reward tab of the hero menu.
